FIELDS OF USE

Protective, water-repellent and long-lasting treatment to be used on balconies and terraces with infiltration problems. SKERMO TERRAZZE is suitable for ceramic, clinker, stoneware, terracotta floors, plaster and concrete facades. Its particular stability to alkaline pH makes it particularly suitable also for marine areas, as it stops the penetration of chlorides and therefore the corrosion of iron reinforcements. Protects all porous and absorbent building materials (bricks, plaster, concrete, prefabricated elements).

The applied product blocks the penetration of water through the structures.

SKERMO TERRAZZE is an innovative solvent-free product with 100% active matter. Its low molecular weight, with dimensions below the nanometre, allows for deep penetration into the materials, guaranteeing high durability over time (at least 10 years).

SKERMO TERRAZZE is not film-forming and does not alter the breathability of the treated structures. Its water-repellent action prevents the outcropping of efflorescences, mosses, algae, lichens, bacteria, which represent a serious problem for the durability of the works and for the healthiness of the buildings.

It protects the treated structures from aging and crumbling due to freeze-thaw cycles.

The application of SKERMO TERRAZZE does not alter the original color of the surfaces which, moreover, will not show differences in appearance or tone during periods of rain.
Surfaces treated with SKERMO TERRAZZE, thanks to its low dirt pick-up, are protected from dust, soot and atmospheric pollution in general.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Thoroughly clean the support to remove possible friable parts. Any stains on the tiles must be removed using a neutral detergent. Cracks in the grout must first be grouted with WINSTUCCO FLEX FINE (for joints up to 2 mm wide) or WINSTUCCO FLEX MEDIO (for joints from 2 to 12 mm wide). The application must take place on a dry or slightly damp surface, but not wet.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Do not add water or additives.
Do not use if container is damaged.

APPLICATION

Spread SKERMO TERRAZZE with a roller or flat brush over the entire tiled surface, taking care to thoroughly impregnate the grouting of the joints. About 15 minutes after laying, any traces of excess product must be removed with a clean cloth. 18 hours after the treatment performed with SKERMO TERRAZZE, the surface can be walked on again.

WARNINGS

The product must be applied in such conditions as to ensure its complete drying in the shortest possible time. Therefore do not apply the product on frozen surfaces, subjected to the rigors of the night or near rainy weather.
Do not apply when it rains or on heated surfaces or directly exposed to UV rays. It is always advisable, before proceeding with the drafting, to carry out a preliminary test on a small part of the support, to check the chromatic stability. Protect from water for at least 18 hours after its application.

Apply at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.

STORAGE

The product, in its intact packaging, has a stability of 18 months. Store at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
